New Posting - Coastal Pacific Aviation

Coastal Pacific Aviation is recruiting a Ground school Instructor

Job Description: Coastal Pacific Aviation is currently seeking a contract instructor to teach Advanced Aerodynamics and Operating Procedures.

Course Description
In-compressible flow airfoil theory and wing theory. Description of stall speed, drag, and basic performance criteria. Stability, trim and control and handling qualities. Configuration changes, high and low speed conditions. Introduction to in-compressible flow in transonic and supersonic flight.

Course Learning Outcomes
Ability to apply the aerodynamic knowledge to aircraft control and performance concerns, to apply that knowledge to understanding the limitations of aircraft that may be flown by the learner during the progress of his or her aviation career, to be ready to use this knowledge as a basis to expand that knowledge as aerodynamics advances in the years to come.

Specific Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able:

1. To differentiate between incompressible flow around airfoils, wings and aircraft
2. To describe how the flow of air around an airfoil or wing produces lift
3. To understand the differences between an airfoil and a wing and how those affect the flight of a real aircraft.
4. To explain the different ways the performance of wings can be altered by additional wing devices such as flaps, slots, winglets and others.
5. To understand the interaction of lift, drag, thrust and weight and the impact each of them makes on aircraft performance.
6. To apply those interactions to maneuvers such as dives turns, stalls and spins
7. To explain the criteria for stability, trim and control of aircraft.
8. To describe the impact of changing external airflow due to changing winds on aircraft flight
9. To describe the effect of contaminated wings and runways on flight

Prior experience in regards to teaching ground school, experience with jets and aerospace engineering are assets. Also, looking for a fun and well rounded individual to make this course enjoyable due to the subject nature.
