Currently we are accepting applications for the position of Security Operations Center Operator at the Vancouver International Airport.



Location

• Vancouver International Airport

Job Functions

• Answer and respond to telephone calls that come into the Security Operations Center from both internal and external stakeholders, answering and directing them as required
• Respond to inquires from Security Personnel, providing necessary direction as per the Standard Operating Procedures and escalating situations with the Security Supervisor, as necessary
• Document necessary information for incidents and service requests, using the platform provided by the Vancouver Airport Authority
• Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve various incidents and requests that occur, escalating to the Security Supervisor, as required
• Ability to deescalate and manage conflict in an appropriate manner
• Provide access and egress into and out of the Restricted Area of the airport, when required
• Dispatch Security Personnel to any Emergency Incidents
• Dispatch Security Personnel to any Unattended Baggage within the terminal building
• Report and Dispatch any suspicious activity
• Conduct and Document investigations through the use of various systems and platforms provided by the Vancouver Airport Authority, reporting findings to the necessary people
• Liaise with various external agencies (i.e. YVR, RCMP, CBSA, USCBP and CATSA)

Job Requirements

• Valid Security License with the Province of British Columbia
• Ability to obtain Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) or have attained at another airport or port within Canada
• Physically Fit and Mentally with the ability to sit, stand and work at a computer for a twelve (12) shift
• Ability to problem solve and situational awareness

Availability and Scheduling
Security Operations Center Operator shifts are twelve (12) hours, rotating between days and evenings (overnight)
