Role Profile: 

The Marketing & Communications Manager develops and implements all communication and marketing activities in support of the corporate direction, strategic plan, business plan and all related strategic objectives of the Halifax International Airport Authority (HIAA). The Manager also coordinates all stakeholder relations and supports business development activities with market intelligence and data analysis. He/she also acts as an alternate spokesperson for the organization.

Qualifications: 
  • Post-secondary degree in marketing, public relations, or corporate communications with a minimum of five years’ experience
  • Two years’ of effective managerial experience, including establishing work priorities, career development and performance coaching
  • Demonstrated ability to focus on priorities and achieve desired results
  • Demonstrated knowledge of communications, marketing and business intelligence
  • Experience in effectively developing and managing budgets
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and logically and develop and execute impactful communication strategies to different audiences
  • Demonstrated knowledge of communications planning and implementation, media and stakeholder relations and issue management
  • Strong writer, able to highlight the corporate voice and tone in deliverables
  • Adept at identifying communication opportunities to positively highlight the organization and demonstrated ability to maximize their impact
  • Outstanding interpersonal, teaming, verbal, presentation and process-facilitation skills
  • Strong collaborator
  • Demonstrated editorial skills and outstanding command of the English language
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strategic working relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and follow up
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new skills and knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
