The Crew Scheduler is responsible for ensuring that all flights are properly staffed according to company and government regulations. The Crew Scheduler is responsible for covering open flights on time and they must handle day to day crew duty issues. The Crew Scheduler is responsible to the Director of Operations Control.

JOB DESCRIPTION
AM Shift:
• Cover any open flying;
• Brief with Crew Scheduler for crew related information for the day and cancelled flights and changes from the night before;
• Check Crew Scheduler log book or email briefings from the last shift;
• Monitor the COMMS (crew comms);
• Check APIS messages and check them off on the check-in sheet if they are correct (keep doing all shift);
• Cancel any hotel rooms and transportation not being used due to cancelled flights;
• Check emails for daily information;
• Prepare the check-in sheets for Air Georgian Limited;
• Prepare customs sheets for Air Georgian Limited and crew meal list for the next day;
• Check for any open flying for your shift or the next day;
• Print of the reserve list for the day that you are working and the next day;
• Fill any open positions for your shift or the next day;
• Re-send customs sheet if crew names have changed;
• Update any errors in crew trac from the day before;
• Have the co-op student to synchronize the flight times for the previous days;
• Make a list of potential duty problems for that day;
• Send the customs sheet for the GRR flights for three days;
• Flight follows using Flight Trac to catch misconnections of crew;
• Keep dispatch sheets updated with any crew changes;
• Prepare dead head locators for the next day (or the month if they have not been done yet);
• Prepare draft reports from your previous shift (if applicable);
• Prepare daily checklist email and send out to crewsked, Flight Operations Technical Systems Manager, and OPOC about the daily events;
• Write all information about your shift in the log book/email briefing;
• Flexible and willing to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends;
• Any duties assigned by the Manager, System Operations Control Centre.

PM Shift:
• Cover any open flying;
• Get daily hand-off from previous Crew Scheduler and/or Dispatch;
• Check Crew Scheduler log book from last shift;
• Check APIS messages and check them off on the check-in sheet if they are correct (keep doing all shift);
• Monitor the COMMS (crew comms);
• Revise/Update reserve sheets if changed;
• Re-check the daily check-in sheets for the next day to ensure accuracy of names and times;
• Have the co-op student to synchronize the flight times for the previous days;
• Monitor and make decisions on potential duty problems;
• Update changes and names in Crew Trac (if there are any changes sick calls/ open time);
• Check for any extra flying for the next day that may not be covered;
• Flight follows using Flight Trac to catch misconnections of crew;
• Keep dispatch sheets updated with any crew changes;
• Check dead head tickets for name changes and accuracy;
• Print off daily check-in sheets, customs, and crew meal sheets and dive to appropriate people;
• Prepare draft reports from your previous shift (if applicable);
• Prepare daily checklist email and send out to dispatch and crewsked about the daily events;
• Write all information about your shift in the log book;
• Give daily hand-off to overnight dispatcher;
• Any duties assigned by the Manager, System Operations Control Centre.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Previous industry or dispatching experience an asset
• Must be at least 19 years of age
• Successfully completed high school or equivalent
• Post-secondary degree in aviation or related experience an asset
• Commercial pilot’s license or passed Transport Canada generic dispatcher exam(s) an asset
• English language: written and spoken
• Must be able to work autonomously or in team settings
• Knowledge of Canadian Air Regulations an asset
• Self-starter, problem solving skills.
• Strong planning, organizational and time management skills
• Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Flexible and willing to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Thrives in a fast-moving environment, with high tolerance for change.
• Motivated and enthusiastic team player.
