POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible to the Duty Manager, the Flight Follower must maintain a pro-active computerized flight watch of all company aircraft. The Flight Follower provides support to facilitate Company aircraft movements including weather reporting and communications services.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Flight Watch
o Monitor progress of each flight from its point of origin to is final destination, including all intermediate stops or until the Flight Watch responsibilities are transferred to another trained Flight Follower
o Maintain Flight Watch log utilizing approved company software (Amelia) and the Flight Watch log shall consist of recording all Scheduled or Estimated Departure and Arrival times, all Actual Arrival and Departure times utilizing Skytrac’s satellite tracking capabilities which include engine start and stop, wheels off and on,altitude and speed, track and relative positions to known landmarks or location
o Review and maintain daily records of completed Flight Dispatch Clearance
o Advise Pilot-in-Command of any changes that may affect or change the Operational Flight Plano Investigate IROP’s of any departure or arrival delays exceeding 30 minutes
o Supervise the safe flight watch of all company aircraft under the control of the SOC Centre
  • Initiating emergency response protocols when required
  • Advise crew of assignments and ensure check in by prescribed time
  • Compile local weather and runway condition reports for timely distribution to flight crews, monitor and report changes as required
  • Communicate operational information to Flight Crews, ATS, Company Directors and Managers via ground to air radio, telephone, fax, E-mail, or verbal briefing
  • Review Company Orientation Memo’s to ensure compliance with the same
  • Monitor Metars/Tafs and relay content when appropriate or requested
  • Record flight crew daily flight and duty time in appropriate data base
  • Liaise with charter sales department on operational details effecting customer service
  • Liaise with crew scheduling on operational issues effecting flight crew schedules
  • Assist with communication between maintenance and flight crews
  • Perform and uphold Wasaya’s Customer Care Commitments to both internal and external customers
  • Any other related duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
Skills/Abilities :
  • Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Able to maintain filing systems and basic databases
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments and customers
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
Assets:
  • Ability to communicate in Oji-Cree or Ojibway
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
